You create and edit shots in the **Builder**, then browse, filter, export, and share from the **View**. Groups and settings let you organize by shoot day or custom lists and control numbering and coverage subjects. ## Builder and View **Visual** → **Shot List**. Use the tabs or links to switch between **Builder** and **View**. * **Builder:** Create shots by selecting script text or adding shots without coverage. The left sidebar shows **All Scenes** (every scene and scene part) or **Custom Lists** (schedule days or lists you created). Click a scene to load its script in the center and its shots in the right panel. Select text in the script to create a shot tied to that coverage, or click **Add Shot** without selection to create an abstract shot and optionally set coverage later. Use the **inspector** (right panel) to edit description, shot size, **Camera**, **Lens**, **Focal Length**, movement, coverage subject, and more. Camera and Lens use the project equipment list (**Production** → **Equipment**). When the selected camera has unit labels (e.g. Cam A, Cam B), you can set a **Camera designation** for the shot. Use **Focal Length** for zoom lenses to record the specific focal length used for the shot (e.g. 35mm), separate from the lens name. See [Equipment](/equipment). Use **Show Coverage** to see colored ranges on the script for each shot. * **View:** Browse shots in a **table** or **card** layout (1–5 columns). Use the **scene picker** at the top to switch scenes or view **All Shots**. Filter by **group** (e.g. a schedule day or custom list). Search shots by text. Inline edit shot size, shot type, movement, and estimated time. Add banners and setups, reorder by drag, export PDFs, and create a view-only share link. See [Using your shot list on the shoot day](/using-shot-list-on-the-shoot-day) for marking as shot and cutting shots. ## Adding shots * **With the entry row (Builder):** Type into the row under the shot list and press **Enter** on the description to add the shot. Spreadsheet shorthand like `ws` and `cu` resolves as you type. See [Builder and coverage](/builder-and-coverage). * **With coverage (from script):** In the Builder, select the script text first. The selection becomes a chip on the entry row and the shot is created with its coverage line drawn. * **Setting coverage later:** Click **Set coverage** on a shot (or **Mark coverage on script** in the inspector) and two handles appear on the script: drag the label at the top to set where the shot starts and the circle at the bottom to set where it ends, then click **Save coverage**. Adjust any time with **Adjust coverage on script**. Shots can stay without coverage for inserts or full-scene shots. * **From the View:** Use **Add** → **Add Shot** to open the full-page Add Shot form without going to the Builder. ## Groups and settings * **Groups:** When your schedule has day breaks, the shot list gets one **group per shoot day**. Use **Filter by group** in the View to see only shots for that day. You can also create **custom lists** (e.g. Pickups, VFX shots) and add or remove shots manually. * **Shot numbering:** In **More** → **Settings**, set **Shot numbering** to Letters (A, B, C…), Numbers (1, 2, 3…), or Custom (type the identifier yourself). Excluded letters (e.g. I, O, Q) can be set when using Letters. * **Coverage subjects:** In Settings, **Manage Coverage** opens the coverage subjects page where you add or edit subjects and colors. Assign a **Coverage** subject to a shot when creating or editing so you can track and view coverage by character. See [Using shots to confirm coverage](/coverage-by-character). * **Display:** Click the **Display** button in the View action bar. Choose which columns appear (Status, Image, Scene, Shot, Description, Camera, Lens, Focal Length, Shot Size, Movement, Est., etc.), set the thumbnail **Size**, and pick a table layout (**Fit** squeezes columns to your window, **Scroll** gives each column full width with sideways scrolling). ## Banners and setups * **Add Banner:** Inserts a label row (e.g. Day 2, Location: Park). Use **Add** → **Add Banner** or the context menu on a shot → **Add Banner Under**. * **Add Setup:** Groups shots under a setup name with optional times and notes. Use **Add** → **Add Setup** or **Add Setup Under** from the context menu. * Day break banners (from the schedule) appear automatically when your schedule has day breaks. ## Export and share * **Export:** When a scene is selected, use **Export** for **Shot List PDF**, **Lined Script**, or **As Shot** (what was filmed). Cut shots are excluded from PDFs unless you turn on **Show cut shots** and include them in settings. * **Share:** **More** → **Share** to create a **view-only link**. Anyone with the link can view the shot list without signing in. Create link, copy URL, or revoke when done. See [Sharing a shot list (view-only link)](/sharing-a-shot-list) for step-by-step.
