Team and Invitations

Organization owners and admins can invite people to the project by email. Invitations require Indie (up to 10) or Company (unlimited). See Plan limits for details. The invite specifies role and permissions (e.g. script, breakdown, schedule, shot lists, call sheets, crew contacts, create projects, invite) and project scope (all projects or selected). The invitee signs up or signs in and accepts. They then see the org and projects according to the invite. Owners, admins, and members with create projects permission can create new projects for that organization. If someone can create projects for more than one organization, the New Project form lets them choose which organization owns the project. Invitations is in the top navigation bar (global nav, not the project nav). Click it to manage pending and accepted invites for your organization. To invite someone to a specific project, use Invitations in the top nav and set the scope to that project when filling out the invite form.

Invitations vs. Address Book

Invitations send an email and grant project access. Use this when you want a collaborator to log in and work on the project. Address Book (in the project nav) is a production contact list for crew, talent, and vendors. People in the Address Book can appear on call sheets and in the breakdown. Adding someone to the Address Book does not send them any emails or give them access to the project. See Address Book.

How to send an invite

  1. Click Invitations in the top navigation.
  2. Click New Invitation and enter the invitee’s email.
  3. Choose their role and permissions.
  4. Set project scope (all projects or specific projects).
  5. Send. The invitee receives an email, clicks through, signs up or signs in, and accepts. They appear under Team Members.

How to accept an invite

  1. Open the invitation email and click the invite link.
  2. Sign up or sign in with the email address that received the invite.
  3. Review the organization and project access.
  4. Click Accept invitation.
After you accept, the organization and its shared projects appear in Spell Slate according to the permissions and project scope set by the person who invited you. If you already have your own organization, you can still work in both places.

Organization and account settings

Click your name in the top navigation to open the user menu. From there you can go to Organization (Overview, Team Members, Billing and Invoices) or Account Settings (name, email, password). Non-owners can leave the organization from the org Overview tab.
