Overview of Spell Slate

Spell Slate is film production management software for independent filmmakers. It helps you plan a shoot by turning your script into a production-ready plan.

What you can do in Spell Slate

  • Script Import: Upload a script (PDF, Fountain, Final Draft, Txt).
  • Write your script: Fully featured script editor so you can start your script.
  • Breakdown: By default scenes, characters, and locations are added to your breakdown. Add other script elements inside our easy script breakdown tool. You can review and edit all the elements. Merge elements.
  • Scheduling: Build a stripboard, create shoot days, and move scenes around. Split scenes quickly.
  • Shot Lists: Organize shots by shoot days and track real coverage.
  • Call Sheets: Create call sheets and send them to cast and crew.

Typical workflow

  1. Create a project and either import your script or write from within the editor.
  2. Review the breakdown. Adjust details, add elements.
  3. Build the schedule and generate shot lists and call sheets.
