  2. Click Upload New Version.
The Upload New Version page with harbor-lights-blue.fountain chosen, under the note that breakdown tags and shots won't carry over The new version opens with a note that it’s live. Each version takes the next revision color: White, Blue, Pink, Yellow, Green, Goldenrod, Buff, Salmon, Cherry, Tan, and Gray. After Gray, the colors start again at Second Blue. Blue revision is now live, with the Blue – 9/28/26 badge next to Versions

What carries over

  • Your schedule. Strips move to the matching scenes in the new version and keep their days and times. New scenes join the schedule, strips for cut scenes are removed, and scenes in the Boneyard stay there.
  • Characters and locations. Ones the new draft no longer mentions are removed when nothing is attached to them.
  • Breakdown tags and shots stay with the old version. Tag the new version’s scenes and add their shots again.

Look at an earlier version

  1. Click the revision badge next to Versions, for example Blue – 9/28/26.
  2. Pick a version.
The revision picker open, listing Blue and White with the file each came from The badge shows up once there are two versions. Opening an older one doesn’t change which version is live.
