Media Gallery

The Media Gallery is your project’s central image library. Every image you upload anywhere in the project (reference photos, location shots, headshots, storyboard frames) lives here. From the gallery you can browse, tag, and reuse images across shot lists, the lookbook, and cast members without re-uploading. Open it from Visual in the project navigation.

Uploading images

Click Add Images to select one or more files from your device. Multiple images can be selected at once and upload simultaneously. While an image uploads you see a placeholder card with a circular progress ring showing real upload progress. When the upload finishes, the real image fades in and the card is ready to use. If an upload fails, the card stays in the grid with an error message and a Retry button. You do not need to re-select the file; click Retry to try again. Click Dismiss to remove the failed card. You can also drag and drop files directly onto the page.

Browsing and filtering

Images appear in a grid. Use the filter tabs to narrow by tag:
  • All: every image in the project
  • Reference: mood, tone, and visual reference images
  • Location: scouting and location photos
  • Character: character reference, costume, and headshot images
  • Props: prop images from boards and cards
  • Wardrobe: wardrobe/costume images from boards and cards
  • Untagged: images without a tag yet

Image cards

Each card shows the thumbnail, filename, and tag badge. Click the menu on a card to:
  • Rename: change the display filename
  • Change Tag: switch the tag category
  • Copy URL: copy a direct link to the full image
  • Delete: remove the image from the project (you will be asked to confirm)

Image detail panel

Click any card (not the … menu) to open the detail panel on the right. The gallery remains visible behind it. In the panel you can:
  • Rename the image: click the filename to edit it inline; it saves when you click away
  • Change the tag: select from the dropdown; saves immediately
  • Add alt text: optional description for accessibility; saves automatically when you click away; a brief “Saved” indicator confirms it
  • See file size and upload date: read-only
  • See where the image is used: the “Used in” section lists every shot, lookbook page, cast member, or outline beat that references this image, with links to each context
  • Delete: if the image is used somewhere, the confirmation message will name those places so you know what will be affected
Use the left and right arrows in the panel header to move to the previous or next image in the current filtered view. You can also use the left and right keyboard arrow keys while the panel is open. The page URL updates with each image so you can link directly to a specific image. Pressing Escape or clicking outside the panel closes it.

Adding images to shots, lookbooks, cast members, and outline beats

Shot list

In the shot list View, hover a shot’s image area and click the camera icon or Add button. This opens the image picker where you can choose an image from your project library or upload a new one directly. On a lookbook scene page with the Gallery content type, click the + slot to open the image picker. Choose an existing image from your library or upload a new one. The slide updates after you insert.

Lookbook split pages

On a Split page, when a column is set to Image, click Browse Library below the upload area (empty state) or in the hover overlay on an existing image. This opens the same image picker to select or upload.

Cast members

On the cast member edit form, a Browse Library button appears next to the headshot field. Click it to select a headshot from your project library. The preview updates immediately. The button is not shown on the new cast member form. Add a headshot after saving the record for the first time.

Script outline beats

In the Outline (Writing in the nav), each beat can have one reference image attached. Click the image area on any beat card (or the small placeholder in list view) to open the picker. You can also drag and drop an image file directly onto a beat. Images added this way are tagged as reference images and appear in the gallery under the Reference filter. See Script outline for the full details on working with beat images.

Uploading directly from the picker

The image picker has an Upload New tab. Drag a file onto the drop zone or click to select one. The same upload progress ring and error states apply here. When the upload completes, the new image is automatically selected and ready to insert.

Storage

Each project has a storage limit based on your plan:
PlanLimit
Free250 MB
Solo, Indie, Company2 GB
The gallery page shows a storage bar in the header so you can see how much space is used. When the project reaches its limit, uploads are blocked until space is freed. To add more storage, upgrade your plan. More: Plan limits, Lookbook, Shot list, Managing cast, Script outline
